Taking a T5 out without the motor

Hi I hope everyone their family and friends are well. Advice needed please. It looks like the rear bearing on my gearbox is very worn. Huge play on the output shaft. So my question is, is it possible to remove a T5 box without taking the engine out ? Fingers crossed someone has a brilliant idea. Tha...

Re: Hardtops How much?

Gary

Toothpaste and or T cut are way too abrasive. I would not use either. I just used a microfibre cloth and elbow grease. The product does all the rest. Very clever stuff. Wheeler dealers only care how it looks on film and as you have already found that is not necessarily accurate.

Re: Hardtops How much?

I used Meguiar's PlastX to polish my soft top window which was so bad you could not see through it. It took a while but the result is astonishing - virtually like new. Works really well on yellowed headlights too so should be good for the hardtop window. Hope this helps you.

As you can see I got my Farenheit and Centigrade confused. It's the heat ! Should have been 88-90°C

Hi Adam Whatever you decide on radiator wise, make sure you fit a top hose filter before you start her up. Otherwise the waterways in your lovely new ( and expensive ) radiator will be full of all the rust and junk out of the block. My choice is the TEFBA filter which allows you to clean the filter ...

Tyres

Hi all. The time has come to replace my tyres which although they have reasonable tread are now 11years old, so time to change. I have looked back through the forum and although this has cropped up previously I really wanted some recommendations from anyone who has recently replaced their tyres and ...

Front Valance

I bought a full front valance from Sunbeam Spares and it was a great fit. Quite a complex panel to have constructed so I was impressed.

I would honestly recommend you get in touch with them.

Mounting alu rad

If it is any help I had this problem, and this was my solution. With an oversize fan there was not enough space to use bobbin mounts. I drilled out the mounting holes in the body and inserted rubber rivnuts which have a relatively thin flange. I was as worried about galvanic action on the alu rad as...

Thanks to both of you. Bob, to what size should I increase the diameter of the hole to allow me to fit the 13.1mm dia spline studs ? and would it be better to use a reamer or a drill ? Thanks because this is new territory for me. I have never broken a stud in over 45years of motorsport. Maybe I have...

Wheel studs

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction with this. I managed to snap off a rear wheel stud so need to replace all on that hub.The studs are longer than standard as I am running 7x15 minilites on the back. I can find loads of 7/16 x 55mm length for a Ford knock in fitting. However, they...

Tailshaft bearing for T5

I have just spent a depressing morning under my Tiger. Quite a lot of fluid escaping past the tailshaft oil seal of the T5. Can't seem to find a supplier for a new one anywhere. Anyone got any ideas ? Also, the clutch slave cylinder is weeping. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be a standard setup. I...

Dzus fasteners for boot floor

Hi Does anyone know where I can get the Dzus fasteners to secure the rear of the false boot floor. They are the last part of the jigsaw for me. Finding the Dzus for securing metal or glassfibre sheet is easy but these are the special ones for wood I think, with a retaining collar that is countersunk...

I think 12mm is a bit thick. I am in the process of remaking one myself and understand that the ply was originally 1/4 " or 6.35mm and that is certainly what mine is. As I can only source 5mm or 8mm marine ply I am going to use the 8mm. Hope this helps.
