David Duncanson - Sad News

Doesn't look like anyone posted that David Duncanson died 19th April 2016. He was very knowledgeable about Tigers and other things Rootes and will be missed by me and his friends and family.

From the other side of the pond: 1971 Opel Manta Rally 1975 Chevrolet Monza with 262 V8 and 4 speed 1976 Alfa Romeo Spyder (this was my summer car for several years) 1982 Renalult Fuego Turbo (biggest pile of junk ever, owned it for a year and something broke on it constantly, the day I sold it the ...

Check that the soft top side panels are not caught between the two side aluminum rails located in the top well. If it is, you can never put the top down. The side panels should hang over the side rails. Sometimes when a new top is put on the installer makes that mistake.

"No Alpine ? NO Tiger" No 1965 Mustang? NO 1965 Shelby Mustang GT350. No AC Ace? NO Shelby Cobra..... You could go on and on, at least with the American collector car market. I'm sure there must be examples in the UK collector car market. Please clarify what point you are trying to make, if any.

I'm impressed at the level of care taken to paint the car. Although, I can't help thinking a few steps may have been passed over just to get the car down the line.

Red,

Your lack of maturity certainly shows through. No wonder you had nothing of substance to add to the discussion.

Wilbur Bud, Look at this web site http://www.rootes1.com/ and check out the heading labeled "The Fraud". You will find useful information posted there. Also, buy or borrow a copy of "The Book of Norman" (weird title but lots of hard to get information) and you will find more information on how to te...

You can have a discussion with FACTS. You end up with an argument with OPINIONS. The facts of where, what, why, and who of the origin for a true, Rootes ordered, Jensen developed and built Sunbeam Tiger are well known. The information can be found reading the various books, looking at related web si...

Red, "You're not going to win this debate, neither is dude." Game, set, match. It's all over but the shouting from you. Your arguments don't add up to a hill of beans. Why is that? You need facts to back up any points you try to make in a discussion and so far, you have presented none. "Recently at ...

Red, I don't argue, I just state facts. Any argument is left up to the ones who have no fact to back up their assertions. Need I say more? beam, "in all my travels around the states no one seems to know who he is or if he really is a tiger owner. this subject came up just last week when a group of s...

Gentlemen, these are the facts and you cannot dispute the facts. FACT: This discussion revolves around one issue; can someone in their shed/garage/shop create a genuine Sunbeam Tiger by applying parts on an Alpine chassis. Also, will that creation be regarded by the Tiger community as a legitimate R...

Beam, So many questions, so little time. "what panels did pressed steel leave off the bodies prior to being shipped to jenson?" "My point is that ADU 638B as an example, is known as Tiger. However it is a modified Alpine, fact. And as you stated works cars being reshelled is not a problem for me but for some it seems this act makes the car a fraud. Its all about personal perception and interpretation of the facts, not just t...
