The 'Autometer unit' is the new 8k Cobra tachometer in the left side of the pic from my link above... The case gets modified to fit some 4" Jeager bezels and glass... and then a 'donor' tach face from a suitable Jaeger gauge is modified and re-lettered to take the place of the face on the Autometer ...

I've built several 8k tachs using a new Autometer unit and adding a re-lettered Jaeger face, indicator, glass and bezels...

Just had a quick read of the e-Bay auction... I find it very odd that it's stated to have a Muncie transmission... quite possibly a mistake as I'm not even sure if there is any adapter available to bolt a Muncie to a SBF !!

I ordered an E-3710 and was surprised that it isn't actually the same diameter as the stock one... Send it back Jim, coincidentally I'm trying the same size at present and it's a perfect fit in the factory air filter surround. Thanks for that info, Tony... I will have another one brought in to see ...
