One thing i found weird is the latches have countersunk screw holes, but pan heads were fitted not sure if that was a PO or Jensen running out of screws. Hi Brad - you may already have this but there's a fastener list that's been around for quite some time that was put together by Kirt Jensen and i...

Last panel is the valance & i know that doesn't fit so going to save that for next time on leave. Brad - second Martin's comments. Work is as ever impressive to follow and the false floor brackets look first class, and probably the easiest piece of sheet metal work you've done given all of your oth...

Ruffy's

Brackets are no problem just need to know what they look like. G'Day Brad - Glad to see you're still progressing. These are very quick and dirty, per usual, and from my Pig, not from my good car so can't speak for total legitimacy, but perhaps handy as a rough guide. Let me know if you need anythin...

Bendix and TRW

Hi Martin I can't vouch for effectiveness pulling up a Tiger, but I've used both Bendix DB525's and TRW GDB7567 in the Alpine. The TRWs seem to offer a nicer pedal (though I agree with the braided sentiment) but I did find them a little dusty. Seems to me dusty is proportional to brake effectiveness...

Rough Shots

Hi Brad Difficult to get same angle with bloody valance in the way, so I've snapped a few in and around. There's also my little support brackets (non OE) that are in the way slightly, but a worthwhile add in. Hope these help. Tom Looking in through front rail/bumper irons support. Still on turkey ro...

Possible Inspection Cover

Hi Brad Mine's not 100% resto correct, but I made a small access panel at the lower reach of the rear of the inner front wheel arch (try saying that after a pint or 3) to allow cleaning/flushing/oiling of the inner sills. I see you have a similar area currently exposed - might be an option to consid...

Harder than a schoolboy

What a fantastic clip! Chunky idle, great rev, what an absolute buzz. Love the way it just pulls through the load placed on it by the engine dyno. Sounds like you've picked a bloke who knows his stuff.
Nice.
Cheers, Tom

I know it's all relative, but...

Thanks for the offer however I am in Australia, some distance away. I see Sunbeam spares offer them at 56.60 quid. A bit pricey with our exchange rate. alpine5gt I was actually surprised to see the part listed as available - I'd have them in what the yanks call the (obviously almost) unobtanium buc...

Thanks Tom, i have another member looking in their loft for one at the moment, but it will probably be an Alpine one which needs cutting down, so yes a rough sketch would be most appreciated. Hi Growler, Does anyone have a spare false floor or a diagram of one as i'll mount it there like Tomaselli has. Hi Brad Here's a couple of images of my false floor - still to be stripped and painted. It's in possession of a light woof but overall straight. Can sketch a roughy with dimensions and PM...

As in Thumpr the Comp Cams offering? I'm no expert, but after peeking at the web site they look like they're probably mega duration cams - which equates to choppier idle (as at least one side effect anyway), which is more about how you plop along at the lights... I'd look at other profiles personall...

Watts a Mumford?

Brad - I'd say the drainage point on the sill didn't have a chance in the crud extraction wars! Is your ex Fab man privy to the photos? I googled the Mumford link (and somehow came up with a Miley Cyrus image - what the?) and there's a vast range of configurations out there that's for sure. I'd say ...

Be wary of generous welds!

Now i know why there was over an inch of weld on the base of the panhard mount. I'm going to have to chop that bit out, then add an extra plate i think. I've an off cut of 3" box which should do for the new bracket. Hi Brad - I found a similar approach on mine when cleaning the subframe (see first ...

Cam Firing Order

Hi Martin No diff there b/w 260/289 (and later: see below) - it's just that (probably for mainly economic/commercial reasons) most cam manufacturers now have a preference for 351W FO on the majority of their profiles. This is particularly so if you head down the HYD roller path. That said, I believe...
