With Bob doing 12 mpg and meadowhog doing 9 mpg, there must be plenty of Tiger owners thinking that their fuel consumption is not that bad after all.

Any other offers for personal mpg figures?

Avoid rear brake judder

Due to the dish (about 4mm) of the rear brake drums, I had to fit a thin spacer (6mm) in order to avoid the rear Minilites (mine are 7 x 15) binding on the brake drum and causing brake judder.
The 6mm spacers have a Ford 108 PCD.

Tomaselli, I think that these are the details which Brian P supplied ages ago. Front: 195/50 x 15 (6 inch with offset of ET13) Rear: 205/50 x 15 (7 inch with offset of ET26) Please double check with him first that this information is correct. I do not want to be responsible for somebody ordering the...

Tomaselli, Minilite will not divulge that information so I do not know what offsets are used. All I do know is that they fit perfectly as promised by Brian P. The only reason I did not cancel my Minilite order was because I did not want to order wheels from elsewhere and then find that the wheels/ty...

I hate to tell you this but Accuspark is also made in China and it does not have a particularly stellar reputation judging by reports on other car forums. A vast number of replacement parts for the Tiger, including crankshafts, rods, electrical equipment etc are also made in China. It is par for the...

I have always used NGK plugs and I can recommend them. I used NGK APR6FS in my old 260 and 289 with OEM cast iron heads. In my 302 with Edelbrock Performer RPM heads (#60229), I use NGK BCPR6ES. I always use Copperslip or similar on the steel spark plug threads to avoid galling in aluminium heads. T...

Good, sound advice about checking the bolts.

As mentioned in an earlier post, the number one cause of the lower fulcrum pin itself failing is reversing hard and fast on full lock.
Reverse slowly and gently when on full lock and your LFPs should last a great deal longer.

UPDATE The wait goes on (almost 4 months now). I spoke to Warren today who gave me a detailed explanation. He told me that the holding company, Specialist Car Products, took over Tech-Del/Minilite in November 2012. Tech-Del had gone bust for the umpteenth time and SCP is very slowly picking up the p...

Minlite Wheels

My original post, along with several others made on the same day, was accidentally deleted. For the benefit of those planning to buy Minilite wheels in the future, please order 3 to 4 months before you actually need them. Many of these wheels are not “off-the-shelf” items and they are specially made...

Nothing. I've hit the wall. First, check that your brakes are functioning correctly-both hydraulics and pads/discs. Second, check your level of intoxication is below the UK legal limit. Third, check your insurance is up-to-date and then sue the wall for aggravated damages to Tiger's front/rear end ...

dadiomalta, The great oil pump debate will continue for ever (stock?, high volume?, high pressure?). For a good explanation of the inner workings of an engine's oil system have a look at the #7 post from Dan Jones (In my daily driver 1987 Ford Mustang GT with 5.0L Ford, I run a blueprinted Melling s...

Here's another pic from Lanhydrock, courtesy of my old pal lovejoy. Bonnet scoops were all the rage in the late 70s and early 80s. To think that 5 bolt 289 engines were then 10 a penny and Boss 302 rods, in the featured car's engine, were also reasonably priced. All we need now is another dose of no...

There's something about old archive images.........
Tony,

That's because all the Tiger folk featured in those images are now really old!

Lanhydrock House-what happy memories.
