Re: Wheel sizes

I've had 15x6" front and 15x7" at rear fit ok, but tight. 8" might be a touch too far without modifications

Re: New Concours Awards. Miles/Boskoff Cups

Great idea. I was 1st in Supercharged class the other year and got nothing.

Re: Wanted: peaked headlight surrounds

Do you mean the ones normally fitted to Alpines and Tigers? I have spares, painted and chromed.

Re: Brads Tiger

Not seen one of those before. Is it better than anti-tramp bars on springs?

Re: RHD steering rack

There should be a few RHD racks available. Quite a few members have upgraded to MG racks, [with or without power steering option] I sold my rack for £300 needing overhaul. Electric power steering makes a great difference to ease of driving a Tiger.

Re: Standard air filter replacement filter element

K&N are meant to be the best. Can be cleaned and reused. Avoid after market foam ones as they have been known to catch fire when carb spits back.

Looks good. Similar colour Tiger just sold for £65,000 at auction.

Re: V8 engines for sale

That's probably my old 260 out of JUL 390D. He's local to me and has assisted on my supercharging. He runs a 800bhp SBF blown Capri. He knows his stuff.

Re: Final rive ratio

The Tremec gearbox in my Tiger is about 40mph/1000 revs! in 5th. 2.88 diff. Great on motorways. 25+mpg

Re: Aluminium radiator and stuff

I also run an electric water pump, instead of mechanical. It ensures full flow even when idling in traffic. Dump the heater totally, saves loads of problems and you don't need one with a V8 next to you.

I run an alloy rad with electric pusher fan. No mechanical fan, no shroud. Also blocked up horn holes to side of rad to ensure all air goes through rad. Works fine. There are many articles on upgrading cooling on Tigers, check back through postings.

Welcome to the club. You've done well finding that many Tigers for sale. Don't come up too often now. Or silly price at dealers.

I have all similar mods to Pierre. Power steering with the MG rack transforms car. Also power assistance is variable so you be adjusted easily to suit your taste. 15" wheels and discs all round cope well with modern driving. 5 speed gearbox also a great improvement.
