Re: Difficulty starting

Thanks, Guys, That's interesting. seems it's a common problem :( I've always managed to start it in the past after a lay up, but it's taken time. Well, I guess it's down to getting petrol into the manifold before attempting to start by using the accelerator pump in the way described. This is what I ...

Re: Difficulty starting

Hi Gary, Thanks for responding. I've always been wary of pumping the accelerator before starting in case it floods, However I have been doing so in a slightly different way you suggest. I used to have more of a problem with hot starting with the Holley carb previously fitted, but this was more to do...

Difficulty starting

Hi Guys, I fitted a Edelbrock 500 CFM manual choke code 1404 to my 65 Mk1A 260 standard Tiger last year. I have always had trouble starting the car when left standing for say a month during winter. Turning the car over with choke pulled does not get results. Giving the accelerator several pumps prio...

Re: SU Fuel Pump Elecronic upgrade

Always find it surprising that putting questions on this Forum seems to get views, but little helpful responses, unlike my other Forum interest, notable the TR Register where I can guarantee enthusiastic responses.

Sadly, I will not be bothering again, just seems a waste of time.

SU Fuel Pump Elecronic upgrade

Hi Guys, Having previously suffered points on the Fuel Pump corroding during winter storage, thought I would remove pump and upgrade to electronic points this winter. I believe a kit is available from 'Burlen Fuel Systems', also on E-Bay, Question: any problems reported with this conversion. Thanks ...

Re: Tiger Waewe pump modification

Despite no comments or advice from the Forum, I have now used my own knowledge and pushed back the fan mounting boss to the specified 13mm front face of boss to body of the pump, which now gives clearance between Fan blades and radiator.

Tiger Waewe pump modification

Hi Guys, I have always been concerned re the closeness of the fan blades to my Radiator, only about 1/16th inch. When going hard around a roundabout or pulling up a steep hill I do get a Brrr noise as the blades touch the top of the Rad. I now realise that the PO fitted a standard Mustang water pump...

Re: Adding a electric fan sensor switch

Hi Guys, Having part drained my cooling system down to remove and check Thermostat function as even though with the engine running and seemingly reaching operating temperature, the top hose seemed to be void of water when sqeezed. The fan sensor is coming on before the hose is filled with water when...

Thanks Gary,
I have just fitted a Revotec sensor in the top hose which is similar to what you've suggested. Rich

Adding a electric fan sensor switch

Hi Guys, With the summers getting warmer, I only have a manual fan switch on my Tiger so it's time to fit a temperature sensor to bring the fan on automatically. Question: There are 'T' adapters with a 22mm threaded port for the sensor on e-bay which would fit, but where to put it, top hose? I'm sur...

Re: hard Top rear window

Hi Gary,

No I didn't. I got a price from Sunbeam spares at £250 ish plus packaging which seems expensive. I ended up fitting a flat acrylic one, although not perfect on the corners, does the job as I don't often use the car in the winter and not purposely when wet! Regards Rich

hard Top rear window

Hi Guys, I purchased a rear window for my hardtop from Alpine West Midlands. sadly its flat and although it's in, not a good fit on the corners in particular which understandably are under pressure from the rubber. Is there a supplier of the correct curved screen. out there? Can't seem to find any. ...

Rear axle outer seal change

Hi guys, I need to replace the rear outer oil seals on the rear axle. Looking at the manual seems like a straight forward job, once the hubs are removed! The question is, it will be possible to create a puller in to simulate the tool shown in the manual, but how likely is it that the hubs will split...
