Can anybody tell me how many amps the temp gauge is so I can get a resistor size worked out to reduce the too high a voltage going through it?
Or can you tell me why the volts are too high - I don't have a voltage regulator.
Cheers

Temp gauge voltage problem
My temp gauge is reading higher than true temp. Garage say it has 7.1v going in to it instead of 4.4v.
Any ideas how to correct or do you know of a company that can advise the correct resistor to reduce the voltage or can correct it for me?
Cheers

Quick update - garage spoke to a chap who races three tigers who said thermostat should be changed for a 92degree one (3 litre capri spec) as coolant is running through too fast and so not cooling in rad as passing thru too quickly at idle. Also to be on the safe side to fit an electric fan for it t...

Hi - Thanks for the advice to date. The only thing that did ring a bell is that I recall the set up of the fan was on some spring washers and normal washers that would have had the fan slightly nearer the shroud/rad and I know the garage said they changed that set up for a better less fiddly one. Th...

Hi - Thanks for the reply. It seems the garage think it is not circulating properly too as top hoses hot, bottom less so. They checked the water pump and believe it is ok and refitted with a paper thin gasket rather than the thicker one that came with head gasket kit. They said it seemed to be cured...

Hi - cant comment on hose temps as car is down local garage run by a tiger owner so he knows his stuff but is stumped by this one as is Brian Postle. I have a 5 blade ally fan and a shroud. Car was running supercool before overheat and fingers in expansion tank is bearable when car says red hot, so ...

Temp gauge reads hot - car is not!
Recently done head gaskets and ally rad as car was overheating. Rad now running cool but gauge says red hot. Tried a different gauge and temp sender, bypassed loom and wired gauge direct. Thermostat opening ok.
Any ideas?

Hi - yes the garage is ok I'm sure. I just don't have the time or know how to sort myself. Rad was found to be blocked when gaskets had gone and only part of rad was hot due to coolant not flowing thru blocked area. Top hose was pressuring up. I did manage to get loads out of the rad but took it for...

Thanks for that info, I'll pass it on to my friendly garage who have done the work and know tigers. The more items to check the more chance we'll resolve it. It was going so well last year after about 12 months of continuous aggro on various issues, thought we'd cracked it and I could use it without...

Tiger still overheating!!!!!
Hi Everyone - hope someone can advise. My Tiger was running supercool last 2 years and had an ally rad fitted new when I bought it. Also have ally blade fan. May 2007 temp gauge stopped working due to sender faulty. Caught in very heavy traffic in July and car overheated it seems due to ally rad blo...
