Re: Difficulty starting

Hi Gary, Thanks for responding. I've always been wary of pumping the accelerator before starting in case it floods, However I have been doing so in a slightly different way you suggest. I used to have more of a problem with hot starting with the Holley carb previously fitted, but this was more to d...

Re: Difficulty starting

I had a 2 Barrel Holley fitted to my old Tiger and experienced similar issues but was told by the PO that he never used the Choke and he advised against me against using it, which I thought strange. However, after having the car checked over and tuned by Chris Draycott Motorsport, I was told by him ...

Re: SU Fuel Pump Elecronic upgrade

I'm afraid this Forum doesn't seem to be as active as some other Car Club Forums, I'm not sure if this due to an aging membership not being particularly IT Savvy or not? I once fitted an Electronic SU Fuel Pump to my Stag back in the 1990's and didn't have any issues, not sure which is the correct t...

Hi Dave Coverdale have been going for years and have a good reputation, they supplied the carpets to the Wheeler Dealer crew for a Rover P5B they featured on the show, here's a link:- https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwjyner1uN6AAxUz3wIHHeJsDrIQF...

Re: Adding a electric fan sensor switch

Hi Rich I recently replaced my Heater Matrix and didn't have any trouble with Air Locks on re-filling and re-starting my car. Did you keep the Heater Valve open when running the Engine up to temperature? I made sure the Matrix was nearly full of coolant and half filled the Header tank before restart...

Re: Adding a electric fan sensor switch

Hi Rich I have a manual switch to control the additional 11" SPAL Fan fitted to my car, so I can't confirm what is the best location. Your suggestion of on the top hose makes sense to me as that will be the water at its hottest travelling into the Radiator. My car has a short Stainless steel pipe se...

Re: gear knob

I would be careful not to split or stretch it.

The gear lever can be removed quite easily from in the car, two bolts if I remember correctly?

It may need less stretching on the Gaiter if you try from the bottom of the gear lever.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Cheers

Re: seams - visible or not?

Dave

Yes, it's your car so do what you prefer, the seams where originally Lead loaded though.

It was all to do with costs cutting apparently.

Re: seams - visible or not?

Hi Dave I'm not sure regarding the front valance, mine are exposed and visible on my very late Mk1 car, which I think is correct. However, on the sills it depend on the year of Manufacture. I believe early cars (Prior to Mid 1965) had the rear seam lead loaded but the front one was visible, on early...

Re: gear knob

It should unscrew like the plastic part, I suppose they can corrode and some releasing spray left for a couple of hours may help? Be careful if you use a pair of grips, don't apply to much leverage or you may snap your gear lever! How do you plan to get the Rubber gaiter over the 'T' Shift lever for...
