There seems to be some confusion over posting pictures on the forum and this post is aimed at showing you how to upload your photographs with Photobucket and display them in your posts etc and will try to explain this so anyone can understand it but feel free to contact me.....
....come on let's see some pics of your Tigers
You'll need to first host your pictures on the worldwide web and it's now free, easy and private. There are plenty of hosting websites to choose from but I would recommend setting up an account with photobucket as it's very user friendly. if you do not have an account go to www.photobucket.com and get yourself an account - IT'S FREE - so no excuses !!!
Step 1.
you need to put your pictures on your computer!!!
This might be off your phone, or digital camera, and is up to you to read the manual on how this is done. (there are too many variations on this to go into specific details)
Basically it will involve connecting the device to your computer and copying the pictures using explorer (or your devices own software) to a location of your choosing.
(it really pays to be organised when doing this on a regular basis, so create a folder with a suitable name)
Step 2.
Uploading to Photobucket.
Open photobucket and log in to your account, you will see this on your screen
This is the only part of the screen that concerns you at this moment in time.
click on the "Upload images & videos" button and you will see a file selector screen appear (below), allowing you to locate your pictures. Select a picture to upload.
If you have several pictures then just select and keep pressed the Ctrl button on your keyboard and click on the individual picture files and once you have picked all your pictures
then simply click on the "OPEN" button and wait till it has completed the uploading process.
(This is childsplay to understand once you try it, and sounds more complicated than it actually is !!)
Step 3.
Creating a post with a picture in it.
Now this requires you to have photobucket open, and to open the forum in another window.
(you will definately need 2 windows open if you have more than one picture you want to display.
Create your thread as you normally would till you get to the point you want to insert your picture.
Switch to the other window (photobucket).
Scroll down till you see thumbnails of your pictures, and locate the picture you want to put in your thread.
The picture will look like this:-
the 4th yellow bar under the picture is the part you are interested in.
Click on the "IMG Code" writing to the right of the 4th yellow bar, on the bar itself, and once the text is highlighted "Right Click" and select copy.
Note:- you don't always see this appear, but as long as you clicked in the right place you're ok.
Switch back to your other window (forum).
Make sure your cursor is in the right place and press Ctrl-V
(you can also press "Shift - Insert" or right click the mouse and pick "Paste" as an alternative)
your post should look somewhat like this:-
i prefer to press my enter key both before and after the [img.] bits (this gives you a spacing) as it keeps the text flowing better.
if you want to see how the post looks, don't submit it, use the "Preview", and your piccy will hopefully be there
Step 4.
Submit and feel smug that you put your picture up for all to see.
i might add, if you're putting large pictures up you edit each one in photobucket, resizing them to 640x480 resolution, or you will end up with pictures that take too long to load and are too big to see properly.
I hope this post helps.
Tony.
p.s. i am not responsible for you messing up the original picture, and accept no responsibility for anything else that might go wrong. You take my advice "as is".
